Trying to doubt can be constructive or destructive. I believe that this depends on the character of the person that doubts. On his personality. The type of personality can affect the type of doubt . Having a strong character, can make it easy to doubt others. Having a weak character may lead into self doubt. By being in the middle one can achieve both, doubt of the external phenomena and then doubt of our theories concerning them. The subject's feelings when he reaches a point where the general doubt meets the self doubt is in my opinion the key element for a constructive doubt procedure. The connection between our conclusions and our observations can be affected by stronger believes (as you mentioned, God for example). This is the point that we need to start doubting ourselves and our conclusions, trying to completely free ourselves from believes that have been given through our lives without doubting them.

In conclusion I believe that the only constructive doubt is the one that has an end. The end of doubt something can be reached when we have finish doubting all our undoubted believes related to the matter... But is it ever possible? As you mentioned, we are just human beings with flawed senses... And our doubt to our believes and to the nature will probably keep forever... through the doubts of others to our own doubts...
